Acetylene is produced as result of chemical reaction between calcium carbide and water. The reaction generates lots of heat, which is controlled to stop acetylene gas from exploding.
The latest and fully advanced acetylene generator is stationary carbide to water automatic generator with twin hoppers. Acetylene is generated as a result of the chemical reaction between calcium carbide and water. The machinery is designed and manufactured to generate acetylene at a pressure of 7 psi.
The condenser works by cooling and purifying the gas thereby condensing the excessive moisture. Cooled water is circulated on the shell side from bottom to top. The condenser is designed and manufactured to suit all local conditions provided sufficient water flow is maintained.
Low pressure dryer
The solid anhydrous calcium chloride at (at least) 80% purity in this pressure vessel soaks up the moisture in the gas. It becomes fluid and is collected at the bottom and drained.
The LP purifier
In the LP purifier, this vessel gets divided into 2 sections by wire mesh framework each section charged of purifying mass. The chemicals in the purifying mass soak up impurities, including H2S phosgene.
The component is a vertical vessel of latest design with a level gauge and water make-up line. A particular level as marked on the level indicator, which has to be maintained for efficient working. All the water soluble impurities for instance ammonia are scrubbed/removed in the Ammonia scrubber.
The acetylene compressor employed in the systems is a multi-stage compressor which is immersed in a water tank to shun any pressurized gas to get in touch with air and also to make sure that all the components are continuously cooled for highest safety. It is driven by a flame proof electric motor.
High Pressure Drier
High Pressure Drier Three Stage filled with special packing and anhydrous chloride to remove impurities from the compressed acetylene gas.
Cylinders filling manifold
Filling Manifold with two headers, non-return valves, flashback arrestor pressure gauges and control valve.
Flame proof level controller
Strict usage of accurate and reliable infrared level controller senses high level and low level in accuracy of millimeters and designed for hazardous atmosphere and has very long life. It meets the criterion of CE standards directive.
Instrument Control Panel
Instrument Control Panel is employed for controlling of high and low level pressure monitoring in generator, high and low pressure cut off in the compressor for high safety due to accuracy of pressure transmitters as specified by CE manual.
